My name is Dr. Scott Sheperd. I am a speaker, an author, and a coach. See a speaking excerpt here and a list of presentations here. See my credentials below. I am also a jazz pianist and composer.

This website is devoted to: helping individuals rekindle their hearts for life in general;

helping parents raise kids who are not emotional victims;

helping people who are dealing with serious illness, injury or the loss of a loved one move through those challenges with their hearts intact;

helping businesses create work environments that encourage people to be strong and creative.

There will be observations, ideas, articles, challenges, and music- because I believe music and the arts in general are critical to having a life full of beauty and joy. Eventually there will be a chance for you to join in and share your ideas and experiences.

Some of the materials in this website will be repeated because some people might immediately go to the business or healthcare or education link to look at the presentations offered.

There are some links on pictures scattered through the website so take a look and find a few treats.

EXPERIENCE

I have worked for over 30 years with people in tough situations ranging from high pressure jobs to terminal illnesses. I have worked in substance abuse and with people who have had children and other loved ones die. I have worked with business people trying to stay sane in crazy times.

I have worked with people dealing with cancer and AIDS and chronic illnesses such as MS, diabetes, hemophilia and MD.

I have spoken across the country to well over 100,000 people in business, health care and education. I have spoken at schools to kids and parents. I have had six books published and did a six part series for Public Television. I have been quoted in magazines and newspapers around the world.

I have worked with helpers; nurses, counselors, social workers and educators and helped them get CEUs. and keep their hearts and spirits alive. I am a jazz pianist and composer.

In some ways perhaps the toughest  situations I have seen are the too many people who live their lives with hearts that have lost their fire. It doesn’t have to be that way.
